Wood-plastic composite door and window market

According to an industry insider who spoke at the 11th International Bio-Materials Conference, China's door and window panel market is now growing at an annual rate of 11%. Wayne Song, president of Futuresoft Technologies Inc., headquartered in Milburn, NJ, said: "Wood plastic composites have great potential in the Chinese market."

Song said that China will build 15.4 billion to 19.2 billion square feet of buildings each year, which is more than the sum of all developed countries. Therefore, energy-efficient wood-plastic composite doors and windows have become an attractive solution.

Song said at the meeting: “Energy-saving building materials have a huge market in China. The potential of wood-plastic composites in interiors is particularly great.”

Song said his company and its affiliates in China have developed a window that mixes wood-plastic composites with aluminum. The new system, which has acquired more than 100 patents in China, can be used on buildings as high as 330 feet.

Song said that China will build 4.8 billion square feet of doors and windows each year. The number of doors and windows used in the renovation of existing homes is about double that figure.
