Bridgeport's Solar Trash

Bridgeport, United States - While everyone was celebrating Earth Day, the United States' small town Bridgeport used solar energy to use high-tech means to win the favor of Mother Nature.

This high-tech product is a solar energy bin containing a garbage compressor inside. Its purpose is to save space in the bin.

"When the rubbish piles up, it will block the electronic eye, which gives it a signal to compress," explains Rick Gaudette of Bid Belly Solar.

“Compared with the days when workers were dispatched several times a day to clean up the bins, the bins only need to be cleaned once a day by the workers. It can help reduce pollution, use garbage trucks instead of long distances, and workers can use the saved time to complete. Better work than cleaning up rubbish.

In order to meet Earth Day, Bridgeport has placed 6 garbage bins and recycling bins in the urban area. They were purchased by the Federal Stimulus Fund. Today, as oil prices are rising, the bins are not only a gift to the Earth but also a relief to taxpayers. Within two years, everyone can purchase this trash can.
