Q-Cells announced its new generation of solar cells while releasing the GIGS thin film module Q.SMART UF.
The new generation of solar cells is said to be known for improved surface metallization and higher levels of efficiency. The new generation of solar cells will be the basis for the new generation of Q-Cells solar modules, and the new generation of modules will be first released at the Intersolar PV Trade Fair in June 2011.
Q. SMART solar modules are well-known for their excellent performance under complex climatic conditions and are ideal for use on flat roofs, such as in large industrial buildings.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) has previously confirmed a 13.37% efficiency rating for Q.SMART solar modules.
