Multi-rope diamond saw cutting board for further development

Abstract: The multi-rope diamond wire saw machine for sawing hard stone such as granite is a new concept and concept as a new concept and concept to replace the traditional steel sand frame saw, and is further developed. Although the full potential has been reached, sales of this new device have grown significantly over the past two or three years. This has been confirmed by major equipment manufacturers, who are also happy to disclose some of their current user information, and the authors report that these orders continue to increase.
Diamond wire saws were invented in the UK in the 1950s, initially incorporating diamond-plated beading on multiple strands of steel. A lot of work has been done to improve and improve the diamond wire saw until the diamond wire saw was commercialized in the carrara marble quarry in Italy in 19781979. The use of diamond wire saws and diamond beaded ropes for hard rock sawing requires further development.
There are three types of diamond wire saws in the stone industry for completely different applications. The first type is a mobile single-diamond saw rope used for diamond wire sawing machines for quarrying stone. It is estimated that there are 2,000 such diamond wire saws used in the world to mine marble and limestone in 2003, and about 1,000 are used to mine hard rock. The fixed single rope diamond wire saw machine is mainly used for block material shaping.
The MDW-multi-diamond wire multi-rope diamond wire saw is the latest type of wire saw. It is estimated that there are about 50 multi-rope diamond wire saws working in the world in 2003. At the beginning of October 2006, the number of saw blades has increased to 110. The multi-rope diamond wire saw can be subdivided into two basic types; sawing thin plates or sawing machines for sawing thick plates. A saw or machine with 30 or more diamond sawing ropes (Table 1) is mainly used for granite cutting saws for competing with or complementary to traditional steel sand frame saws. The number of diamond sawing ropes (2-29 diamond saw ropes) wire saws (Table 2) is used for thick sawing of tombstones or building engineering components.    A short development process The multi-rope diamond wire saw machine developed by Yamana Corporation of Japan was tested in sawing granite in 1994, which was reported in the literature. The machine is equipped with 10 bead ropes with a diameter of 10mm. It is believed that such a wire saw machine has never been produced in the past.
In 1997, Italy's Wire Engneering announced that the company's Falcom 600 wire saw machine was equipped with 10 saw blades with a diameter of 8 mm. The sawing grade 5 hard granite 40mm thick sheet has a daily productivity of about 250m2.
In 2000 Bideseimpianti shipped a diamond wire saw machine with 50 sawing ropes to the Granisa stone factory in Spain. The machine was later modified into a wire saw with 58 saw ropes. The diameter of the steel rope is 4mm, the diameter of the bead is 6.7mm, and the monthly output of the thickened 20mm granite 20mm is 20,000m2. Compared with the steel sand frame saw, it is only 6000m2. At the end of 2006, Bideseimpianti is expected to sell 20 GDLD30/GOLD60 wire saws.
It was also in 2000 that Pelle Young Machinery started the production of its multi-rope diamond wire saw. The multiwire sawing machine Polywire 5/16 can be equipped with 5 and 16 sawing ropes for sawing 21-151mm thick plates according to its design requirements. The company now offers a new diamond wire saw with 30 and 32 strings. Pellegrini claims that the output of a single wire saw is equivalent to the production of three steel sand frame saws.
Table 3 and Figure 1 are comparative data published for the first time six years ago, and most of them are still valid until now.   On the other side of the Atlantic, Cold Spring Granite (CSG) decided to design and manufacture its own multi-rope diamond wire saw, one of which began to work and work in 19% of the year. Founded in 1898, CSG is now one of the world's largest granite mining and processing bases. The company has 5 stone processing sites, more than 30 quarries and approximately 1,400 employees. Ray Jaeger, the company's engineering manager, confirmed that the company has multi-rope diamond saws in Canada, Texas, California, New York, South Dakota and Minnesota. Some wire saws are used for granite mining. The 15 multi-rope diamond wire saws in Texas and Minnesota are computer controlled and automatically lubricated. The use of electronic sensors for unattended operation and control of the diamond sawing process. All saws use recirculating cooling water, each of which consumes less than or equal to 1.5 gallons per minute of water, as shown in Figure 2.   Although the multi-rope diamond wire saw machine has many advantages compared with the traditional steel sand frame saw machine, the demand for European granite plates in 2000/2003 is not large, so the further sales of the new wire saw machine is slow, and there is no change in 2004.
We asked two heads of the three European industry leaders two questions:
What do you think is the main reason why multi-rope diamond wire saw technology is constantly recognized and accepted?
Do you expect a significant increase in the ordering of multi-rope diamond wire saws?
Mr. llario Bidese, Bideseinpianti srl, replied:
It is no longer a problem for users to recognize the multi-rope diamond wire saw, but there is a strong demand. Many people around the world have recognized the benefits of multi-rope diamond wire saw technology and are now ordering the device. We believe that a saw with a minimum of 30 sawing ropes is a very practical multi-rope diamond wire saw machine, the reason is that it is possible to saw once, and at most two can cut a large block. As shown in Figure 3. We believe that such applications will need to increase in the near future. Some users have decided to add a multi-rope diamond wire saw to complement their traditional steel sand frame saws to meet the growing demand in the market.
Mr. Emillo Brocco of Wire Engineering replied:
According to my opinion, there are several reasons for the increasing recognition of multi-rope diamond wire saws:
1. No need for skilled technicians to train operators within 5 working days, and operate and use the machine under the guidance of others.
2. High output, low energy cost, and good working environment.
There is great flexibility in the direction of (8h sawing).
Regarding the range of sawing materials, it has great applicability. It is possible to saw marble, limestone, slate, granite, mysterious weapons, sandstone, etc. using the same sawing machine.
Low mechanical maintenance.
If high production capacity is taken into account, the mechanical cost is low. The slit width (ie diamond bead diameter) is only 7 mm.   It takes only a few minutes (according to our wire saw machine) to change the spacing between the saw ropes and the thickness of the sawn boards.
The answer to the second question is of course also affirmative. I expect to produce about 20 multi-rope diamond wire saws per year. Of course, not all of them are like the Arianna XF72 multi-wire saw, which we produce, with 72 strings. In the later September, the XF-F2 multi-rope diamond wire saw will be put into use by IGS Jiangye Granite Co., Ltd.).
Mr. Gianluigi Biasco of Pellegrini Meccanica spa believes that:
The main reasons for the growing recognition of multi-rope diamond wire saws are:
Fast sawing speed; can cut different materials; easy to pay, very flexible in changing the thickness of sawing material at constant speed; low equipment maintenance cost; small installation footprint; simple and low cost equipment installation base.
We believe that the number of multi-rope diamond wire saws will increase significantly.
Competitor's comment:
Thousands of traditional frame saws are used worldwide, and the first frame saw was installed in the mid-1950s. About 10 years later, steel sand was introduced for frame saws. Obviously this technology is familiar to all operators, and the sawmill manufacturer is still improving and perfecting its products. According to Gaspari Menotti, Smm's strip saw blade has a slit width of 6.5mm, which Barsanti cuts. The slit width is 7mm and Pallegrini's slit width is 8.5-9mm.
The question is, are traditional equipment manufacturers now seeing the threat from multi-cored diamond wire saws in granite sheet processing?
Giorgin Magi, Corporate (Retired) Commercial Manager Mr. SrLoverdi believes:
The surface finish of diamond wire sawing stone is better, but I think the traditional frame saw has better dimensional accuracy and lower cost.
Barsanti Macchine Regional Manager, Mr. Luca Morolenti:
We just sold six so-called traditional frame saws to Marmi Bruno Iamet for its Vitoria sheet processing plant in Brazil, which is what I want to say.

The author's note: Bideseimpianti also sold one, Ga1d60 multi-rope diamond wire saw machine to the same stone processing plant).
Carlo Bastianello Manager, Mr. BM:
"I believe that our cost is only half of the sawing method of multi-rope diamond saws." Gaspari Menotti Regional Manager: Dr. Alessan-dro Galleni: “It is worthwhile to have a multi-rope diamond wire saw in the peak demand period. I will advise new customers to purchase 3 traditional frame saws and 1 multi-rope diamond wire saw. Meet the needs of fast growth."
Therefore, our conclusion, in general, the current cost of sawing granite slabs with a multi-rope diamond wire saw is higher, but it is very beneficial to produce plates faster during peak demand periods. It is very beneficial to use multi-rope diamond wire saws. of.
