New Hybrid Wing Technology Can Reduce Aircraft Fuel Use by Half

In the past few years we have been paying attention to hybrid vehicles but it has been shown that other hybrid vehicles are being studied. A research team from NASA recently announced the successful development of a new hybrid wing (or wing fusion) technology that can reduce the fuel use of aircraft by half. NASA predicts that the technology may actually be used commercially for another 20 years. However, this technology can be used to improve the design of a conventional aircraft soon. It may be used to solve the battery problem of the Boeing 787.

NASA's new X-48C aircraft uses the latest top fuselage manufacturing technology and is equipped with an ultra-high bypass ratio engine, much lower than the average aircraft fuel consumption. The project was jointly completed by NASA, Pratt & Whitney, and Boeing Company and cost more than 300 million knives. The new design has reduced the weight of the entire body by 25%, which also leads to a significant reduction in fuel consumption. However, if the design of the fuselage to expand the wings will face many difficulties, it will take several years to wait for commercial use.

How to maintain the pressure to overcome cabin pressure is also a huge project. This traditional columnar fuselage is relatively easy, but engineers also spent decades, but for the aircraft wing and fuselage integration more Flat, and this will also bring more problems in maintaining cabin pressure.

The research team has been working on this aspect of the study and conducted a series of tests on various parts of the fuselage to evaluate its tolerance to pressure changes. They stated that they will strive to complete a 30-foot (9.14 m) wide enlargement in 2015 to observe the feasibility of their design and manufacturing processes.

It is reported that Pratt & Whitney will use this ultra-high bypass ratio engine on its Bombardier c-series aircraft, which is also the first commercial application of the design.

Hdpe rod and sheet is a high crystallinity and non-polarity thermoplastic resin,HDPE Rod and Sheet has good chemical stability, which can resist corrosion of most acid, alkali, organic solution and hot water; good electric insulation property and is easy to weld.

AHD is the first to produce ultra-thick PE plate (with a thickness up to 200 mm) in China, whom started to research, develop and produce HDPE Rod and sheet in 2002.

Hdpe Rod and sheet are widely applied to drinking water/sewerage pipe, hot water pipe, conveying container, pump and valve part, medical appliance, seal part, cutting plate and sliding material in chemical industry, machinery, power plant, garment, packaging and food industries.
