On May 15-18, 2017, Executive Vice President Chen Huiren led a delegation of China Machine Tool Industry Association to Moscow to inspect the 18th Russia International Metalworking Equipment and Tools Exhibition (commonly known as the Russian International Machine Tool Show).
Russia International Metalworking Equipment and Tools Exhibition is the largest, highest level and most influential professional machine tool exhibition in Russia. The exhibition was supported by Russian official, social organizations and the European Machine Tool Cooperation Organization. The exhibition was held in 1984 and is currently held annually. The organizers of the exhibition are Moscow International Exhibition Center and Russian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association. The actual organization and management work is the former.
Since the organizer has not released a formal data report on this exhibition so far, it is only based on the situation on the spot. The exhibition occupied 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and the Forum, and about 10 exhibitors were exhibited in the outdoor exhibition booth, with a total area of 94,500 square meters. According to the president of the exhibition center, the net exhibition area has increased by 1000 square meters from the previous session to 39,540 square meters, and 1042 exhibitors (according to the list of exhibitors, including national associations, the total number of exhibitors is 990). From 30 countries and regions, including 500 domestic exhibitors. The number of visitors to the exhibition was 31,432, a slight increase from the previous session. The popularity of the exhibition was quite popular, reflecting that the Russian machine tool consumer market is still quite active.
At 12 o'clock on May 15th, the exhibition center held the opening ceremony in the conference hall of Hall 2. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Director of the Russian State Duma Economic Policy Committee and the Deputy Mayor of Moscow attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Also attending the opening ceremony were the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of the Exhibition Center and the President of the Machine Tool Manufacturers Association.
During the exhibition, the organizers held a number of supporting activities. Some of these activities are traditional projects of previous exhibitions, and some are also “innovation”. It is said that the large-scale reception dinner held in the exhibition hall after the closing of the day is the first project of this year. More than 400 representatives of the main exhibitors were invited to the reception. There were famous singers and bands from Moscow to perform the performance. The atmosphere was lively. The International Forum on Industrial Development Trends sponsored by the Russian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association is the traditional supporting event of the exhibition. This is the seventh session. The theme of this year is the development trend of machine tool structure design. The exhibition center also held a number of events jointly organized with the Moscow State University of Science and Technology Machine Tool School, such as intelligent manufacturing, 3D printing and other advanced technology reports, organized on-site teaching and student technology invention contest, and awarded the best "metalworking innovation" award.
The number of exhibitors in Russia has increased from the previous session to 500 (the last 451), but the agency dealers account for the vast majority, and there are a certain number of software, structure and process design technology companies. Real manufacturing companies account for a small proportion, especially host manufacturing companies are still relatively small. These key Russian host manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the prominent position of Hall 2, with a large booth area. Russia's largest machine tool manufacturer "CTAH", the booth construction is comparable to the top international companies, the exhibits lineup is strong, the appearance is beautiful, and some exhibits are structurally unique. It can reflect the company's design and manufacturing process technology.
Overall, the Russian machine tool industry is still weak, and the market consumes a large amount, mainly relying on imports. From the perspective of Russian exhibiting entities and exhibits, this state is gradually improving. The Russian Federation attaches great importance to expanding the production capacity of machine tools and increasing the research and development capabilities of modern technology equipment. In the opening speech, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade said: "In the past three years, the metal processing industry is constantly picking up, the dependence on imports is decreasing, new manufacturing products, demand for Russian-made machine tools is growing. We are New development strategies and support policies based on machinery manufacturing and new development characteristics will soon be submitted to public hearings."
Except for Russian exhibitors, the largest number of exhibitors are Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The three countries have a total of 260 exhibiting companies, all of which are physical manufacturers. DMG MORI, Grob, Gleason, Chiron, Hermle, United Grinding Group, Waldrich Coburg, World-renowned companies such as Trumph, GF Processing Solutions Group, Bystronic, Powersight, Pama, and Salvagnini participated in the exhibition, but a considerable proportion of the booths only Exhibits, many of the company's products are on display at the booths of Russian agents and distributors. There are not many companies exhibiting in the surrounding Eastern European countries, and they are mainly concentrated in the Czech Republic (26) and Belarus (18). There are only four in Poland and Ukraine.
There were 75 exhibitors in China, an increase of 20% over the previous session. Most of them were organized by various organizations to participate in the exhibition. Shenyang Machine Tool and Dalian Machine Tool were represented by the same distributor in Russia. The exhibition area and the number of exhibits were reduced compared with last year.
My Machine Tool Association organized a number of companies to participate in this exhibition. It is located in Hall 3, which is relatively better than other exhibition units. Due to the difficulty in transporting Russian exhibits, exhibitors are basically tool industry companies.
On the morning of May 17, the heads of the Association and the Machine Tool Corporation held a meeting with the relevant leaders of the Russian Exhibition Center and the Machine Tool Association. China and Russia have discussed further cooperation in the future. (Source: Association to Russia Machine Tool Exhibition Delegation)
