National Grid Quality Inspection Center held a meeting on new materials for construction steel structure

On April 22nd, a significant event took place in Xuzhou, where the National Network Quality Inspection Center (Xuzhou) and Shandong Huaxing Machinery Co., Ltd. jointly organized a conference on the construction steel structure design specifications and the promotion of new materials and technologies. The event brought together over 100 representatives from various sectors of the construction steel industry, highlighting the growing interest in innovative solutions that can reshape the future of steel structures. During the meeting, Shandong Huaxing Machinery Co., Ltd. showcased its pioneering wave technology and advanced production equipment, which are set to revolutionize the industry. Liu Ge, a member of the Steel Sub-Technical Committee under the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee, provided an overview of China's current standards for construction steel structures, emphasizing the importance of aligning with evolving technological advancements. Ms. Jin Juanru from the PKPM Steel Structure Division of the China Academy of Building Research presented insights into the new technology wave belly, discussing technical specifications for the application of sheet steel structures. Her presentation highlighted how these innovations could enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve structural performance across different projects. Dr. Tong Jingzhong from Tsinghua University then delivered a detailed explanation of the design and production equipment for wavy web H-beams. He outlined the unique characteristics of this product, including its enhanced strength-to-weight ratio and versatility in construction applications. It is worth noting that this innovation fills a critical gap in China’s market for "wave-shaped web H-shaped steel CNC production equipment." The technology has already secured 14 national patents and has been recognized as a high-tech project, supported by the provincial government as a key construction initiative. Following the conference, more than 60 participants, including Director Han and Director Wang from the National Network Quality Inspection Center, traveled to Boxing County in Binzhou, Shandong Province, to visit the wave web demonstration project of Shandong Huaxing Machinery Co., Ltd. They also toured the country’s first fully automated production line for wave webs, gaining firsthand insight into the technology’s real-world implementation. Several companies, including Xuzhou Tongyu Space Structure Co., Ltd. and Xuzhou Hengjiu Group Co., Ltd., expressed strong interest in the wave web technology. Their leaders engaged in in-depth discussions with Huaxing Machinery representatives, exploring potential collaborations and further development opportunities. This event not only demonstrated the potential of new wave technology in the steel structure industry but also marked a significant step forward in China’s efforts to adopt and promote advanced manufacturing solutions. As more companies show interest, it seems that the wave web technology is poised to become a game-changer in the construction sector.
