National Grid Quality Inspection Center held a meeting on new materials for construction steel structure

In a bid to explore the future of steel construction, a significant event took place on April 22nd in Xuzhou. Organized jointly by the National Network Quality Inspection Center (Xuzhou) and Shandong Huaxing Machinery Co., Ltd., the conference focused on the latest developments in construction steel structure design, new materials, and innovative technologies. Over 100 industry professionals from related fields attended, showcasing growing interest in modernizing traditional steel construction methods. During the event, Liu Ge, a member of the Steel Sub-Technical Committee under the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee, provided an overview of China's current standards for construction steel structures. Meanwhile, Jin Juanru from the PKPM Steel Structure Division of the China Academy of Building Research introduced the latest advancements in wave web technology, highlighting its potential in improving structural efficiency and sustainability. Dr. Tong Jingzhong from Tsinghua University delivered a detailed presentation on the design and production equipment of wavy web H-beams. He explained the unique features of these beams, their practical applications, and how they contribute to more efficient and cost-effective construction solutions. Notably, this technology represents a breakthrough in China, as it fills a critical gap in the "wave-shaped web H-shaped steel CNC production equipment" sector. The innovation has already secured 14 national patents and is recognized as a high-tech project supported by the state. Following the conference, over 60 attendees, including Directors Han and Wang from the National Network Quality Inspection Center, made a visit to the wavy web demonstration project in Boxing County, Binzhou, Shandong Province. There, they had the opportunity to see the first fully automated production line for wave webs in the country. Several companies, such as Xuzhou Tongyu Space Structure Co., Ltd. and Xuzhou Hengjiu Group Co., Ltd., expressed strong interest in the technology and engaged in detailed discussions with representatives from Shandong Huaxing Machinery Co., Ltd. This event not only highlighted the potential of wave web technology but also emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government in driving technological progress in the construction sector. With continued innovation and support, the future of steel structures looks promising and more sustainable than ever.
