Linyi was named "China Diamond Capital"

The reporter learned from the Linyi City Land and Resources Bureau in Shandong Province that the China Mining Federation recently announced that Linyi has been officially recognized as "China's Diamond Capital" following a rigorous expert review process. This designation highlights the city’s significant role in the country’s diamond industry. According to Li Yanpu, director of the Linyi City Land and Resources Bureau, Linyi is not only China’s first major diamond production base but also home to the Qiyu No. 1 Mine—the earliest diamond primary mine with substantial production capacity. It remains the only large-scale operational diamond mine in the nation, making it a key player in domestic diamond extraction. Linyi’s history with diamonds dates back centuries. Records and local legends suggest that diamonds were first unearthed in the Yucheng area during the Ming Dynasty. The region, known for its diamond-rich sand mines, became famous for frequent diamond discoveries, especially in areas like Yuquan East, Siling, and Shenquanyuan. Diamond exploration in Shandong began in the late 19th century when German geologist F. V. Hichhofen conducted surveys on the Yucheng sand mine. In the 1920s and 1930s, Japanese researchers carried out similar studies in Linyi and Yucheng. Later, in the early 1950s, the Ministry of Geology sent teams to explore diamond deposits in Linyi and Mengyin. The real breakthrough in diamond exploration came in 1957, when systematic geological work began in Shandong. By the mid-1960s, geologists started focusing on primary diamond ore prospecting. Between 1965 and 1979, they identified 10 kimberlite rock tubes, 47 kimberlite veins, and one kimberlite rock bed. Of these, 25 sites met industrial standards, leading to the discovery of two large primary mines and three smaller deposits. In recent years, Linyi has made diamond resources a priority in its mining development plan (2012–2020). The city has designated Mengyin, Pingyi, Feixian, and Yucheng as key areas for diamond exploration and deep mineral resource assessment. As of now, the total reserves are estimated at 1.747 million carats. Li Yanpu emphasized that diamond mining is a unique and valuable resource for Linyi, with the city producing more diamonds than any other in China. He noted that the development of Linyi’s diamond industry mirrors the broader evolution of China’s diamond sector. In 2013, the China Land Transfer Bureau held a seminar in Linyi focused on diamond exploration in the North China Block. The event marked Linyi as a national priority for diamond prospecting. By the end of 2013, the city had discovered a combined total of 12,335,900 carats of primary and sand diamond resources, further solidifying its status as a key player in China’s diamond industry.

Carbon Steel Screw

Screws are threaded fasteners that create permanent or temporary assemblies. They are inserted and removed by turning in one direction or another. Wood screws, floor screws, and sheet metal screws have flat heads that sit flush when holding material together. Machine screws fasten metal to metal and are inserted into a prethreaded hole or mated with a nut. Thread-cutting screws are self-tapping screws that cut away and remove the surrounding material to create a tapped hole. Deck screws resist rust and corrosion to hold outdoor decking materials together. Drywall screws have fine tips, coarse threads, and tapered bugle heads to penetrate drywall and grip wood without damaging material. Hex-head bolts, cap screws, and lag screws are driven with wrenches rather than screwdrivers or drill bits. Captive panel screws and thumb screws can be tightened and loosened without tools on parts that are frequently removed such as access panels. Screw caps can help to cover screw heads for both safety and aesthetic purp
