(1) When installing the geomembrane, the joints between the membrane sections should be formed in a T-shape rather than a cross shape. This ensures better structural integrity and reduces the risk of leakage at the seams. Proper alignment and careful handling during this process are crucial to maintain the effectiveness of the waterproofing system.
(2) After completing the geomembrane welding, the film should be laid flat along the axis of the dam. On the side of the crushed stone slope, it should be loosely placed before manually rolling up any excess material. The inner side of the geomembrane must be secured at the same height as the fine sand protective layer. On the opposite side, the fine sand protective layer and gravel transition layer are filled manually. The fine sand is compacted using impact tamping, while the gravel transition layer is compacted with an HDZ200 vibrating water compactor. Once these layers are completed, the geomembrane is turned over to the filled side, and a fine canvas is placed on top for additional protection. The original placement side is then filled with the fine sand protective layer and gravel transition layer.
(3) The construction of the geomembrane anti-seepage system follows a low-to-high structure approach. First, the geomembrane and bentonite waterproof blanket are installed, followed by layered placement. Fine sand protective layers and sand-gravel transition layers are applied on both sides of the film. The 80cm transition material has a relative density of 0.8 and a designed dry density of 2.0g/cm³. The 20cm fine sand is similar in properties to the 80cm transition material. The fine sand protective layer is filled in 20cm increments, while the gravel transition layer is filled in 40cm layers using a "canine staggered" ascending method. Each layer of transition material is laid at twice the height of the fine sand protective layer. After laying, no immediate crushing is performed. Once the fine sand and transition materials are flushed, they are compacted with the fine sand protective layer and the dam shell material.
(4) The geomembrane installation is done manually, with each block placed in the designated order and direction. This ensures that the layout is accurate and consistent with the design specifications.
(5) During the installation of the geomembrane, it should be properly relaxed to prevent artificial folds or damage. Careful handling is essential to avoid compromising the integrity of the material. It is important to ensure that the geomembrane remains smooth and free from wrinkles or tears throughout the entire process. (Word count: 576)
