The Easy-Open Force Detection Program for Oral Liquid Yitong Caps
There are various types of oral liquid bottle caps available in the market, including aluminum-plastic composite caps and Yitong aluminum caps. These caps are typically lined with a rubber plug or pad to ensure sealing and protection against contamination. When consuming oral liquid, users first puncture the aluminum cap using the slanted tip of a pipette, then insert the pipette to draw out the liquid. Since the cap is made of aluminum, a certain amount of force is needed to break it open. If the force is too high, it may cause inconvenience for consumers.
To help companies evaluate the ease of use during the production process, Jinan Sanquan Zhongshi has created an experimental setup that simulates the actual opening process. Let’s take the example of a 15.3mm diameter Yitong aluminum cap:
**Testing Equipment:**
- YBB-01 Medical Packaging Tearing Force Tester
- Oral Liquid Puncture Straw
- Special Fixtures
**Testing Principle:**
The aluminum cap is fixed on the lower jaw of the testing machine. A puncture straw with a slanted tip is used to pierce the cap at a controlled speed. The maximum force required to puncture and open the cap is recorded, and the result is evaluated for compliance.
**Testing Method:**
1. Take a suitable number of Yitong bottle caps and secure them onto the lower clamp of the medical packaging tear tester.
2. Insert the puncture straw into the upper clamp of the device, adjust the slanted tip to the designated opening area of the cap, and start the test at a speed of 100 mm/min ± 10 mm/min.
3. After the test, observe the maximum force value recorded. If the easy-to-open force is ≤12N, the product is considered qualified.
This method uses a 15.3mm diameter cap as an example. However, the required force may vary depending on the size of the cap. Enterprises should adjust their internal standards accordingly.
