How to level the weights in horizontal lifting

When working with lifting belts to move heavy objects horizontally, achieving proper leveling is essential. In this post, I want to share some insights from my experience working with lifting gear at Hebei Dongsheng Sling Rigging. We’ve found that there are two main methods for effectively leveling loads during horizontal lifting: Firstly, there’s the rope-shifting method. This involves moving the lifting belt at the attachment point or adjusting the length of the stressed ropes to shift the load into a balanced position. This technique works well for long or slender items and can be applied in both single-rope and double-rope setups. However, it requires careful handling because it can only be done under no-load conditions, and sometimes it takes several attempts to get everything right. Secondly, we have the reverse-chain method. Here, an inverted chain, also known as a hand-pulled hoist, is attached to the lifting line to adjust the tension and balance the load. You can use this method for one, two, or even multiple points of attachment. It’s effective and precise, even under load, and can be combined with a pulley system for added control. One thing to keep in mind is that the chain length needs to be just right—too long or too short can make adjustments impossible. Additionally, before the load lifts off the ground, ensure that no part of the setup is under excessive strain. Safety is always paramount, so whether you’re dealing with delicate equipment or just ensuring smooth operations, choosing quality gear like those made by Dongsheng can make all the difference. Stay cautious, stay secure!
