According to Pan Wenhui, the general manager of the solar cell plant, Jingjing is set to introduce a P-type high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell in 2013. The company previously collaborated with an Ashkenazi solar plant, but the technology was developed by Shining at that time. Now, the 20% efficient monocrystalline cells are entering the production stage, with initial output expected in the first half of 2013. The planned capacity is 80MWp, marking a significant step forward in the company's efforts to enhance energy conversion efficiency.
The 20% efficiency level is already close to the theoretical limit for P-type monocrystalline silicon. To achieve further improvements, the industry may need to shift toward N-type monocrystalline technology, which is still under development. Although Jingjing has not yet set a precise timeline for launching N-type products due to the current immaturity of the technology, the company remains committed to R&D and cost reduction. Industry experts believe that with growing demand for high-efficiency solar solutions, Jingjing’s P-type cells could carve out a profitable niche in the market.
