At 3:26 PM on December 21st, under the command of the dispatch and control center of Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., the first-phase centralized control room operator of SDIC Ili Energy Development Co., Ltd. clicked the mouse and closed the 2201 circuit breaker at the No. 1 transformer substation. On the large screen, the display of Yili's largest power generation unit—two 330 MW thermal power units—immediately appeared. Suddenly, the leaders who had been waiting in the control room and the employees who had worked tirelessly for days erupted into cheers. The Phase I thermal power project of SDIC Ili Energy Development Co., Ltd. has a total installed capacity of 660 MW, marking the first large-scale modern power plant in Ili. Since the start of construction, it has received strong support from the regional party committee and government, as well as from the Yili State Party Committee, the Yining Municipal Party Committee, and local governments. The project has benefited greatly from their guidance and assistance, achieving multiple key milestones such as successful water supply, power connection, and grid integration. On December 21st, the project celebrated another milestone with the successful grid connection of Unit No. 1, officially integrating it into the Xinjiang Power Grid. The unit has now begun carrying an initial load and is expected to soon enter a 168-hour full-load test run. It will soon become a key power source for the region. Meanwhile, the construction of Unit No. 2 is progressing smoothly according to schedule, with plans to officially commence operations in February next year. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the company will focus on the development of the second-phase 2×350 MW cogeneration project, a 2×660 MW thermal power plant, and the Corktas Reservoir Project. These initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to the acceleration of new industrialization in Ili and drive its rapid economic growth.
