In an effort to boost the sustainable growth of the solar energy sector, the central government has allocated a total of 7 billion yuan to support the demonstration of 3,157 megawatts of photovoltaic power generation. This comes in addition to the 6 billion yuan already announced at the start of the year for 1,930 megawatts, bringing the total investment for 2012 to 13 billion yuan. As a result, the domestic application scale for photovoltaic power has now reached 5,200 megawatts, significantly accelerating the deployment of solar energy projects across the country.
According to recent reports, in line with national policies, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is spearheading a new initiative called "Photovoltaic Going to the Countryside." This program aims to bring solar power into rural areas on a large scale, tapping into the opportunities brought by urbanization. It is estimated that there are over 50 million mu of standardized agricultural greenhouses nationwide. If all these structures are equipped with integrated photovoltaic systems, it could stimulate a rural market worth up to 250 billion yuan, offering a major economic and environmental boost to rural communities.
