Decorative Panels
These panels are crafted from slices or cuts of natural wood. They are bonded onto substrates like plywood, fiberboard, or particleboard through lamination and gluing processes. Known for their clear grain patterns and natural hues, these panels serve as premium decorative elements.
Calcium Composite Board
This board uses high-pressure polyethylene as its base material, mixed with a substantial amount of light calcium carbonate and a smaller quantity of additives. Through processes like kneading, hot pressing, and foaming, this lightweight board provides excellent soundproofing, thermal insulation, and moisture resistance. It's primarily used for ceiling panels.
Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)
MDF is an engineered wood product manufactured by breaking down hardwood or softwood residues into fibers, combining them with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels using heat and pressure. This results in a dense, uniform board suitable for a variety of applications.
Fiberboard
Fiberboard is divided into three types: hard, semi-hard, and soft. Hard fiberboard is often used for ceiling tiles and partition walls. Its surface can be drilled into intricate designs, and various finishes can be applied to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Hard fiberboard offers excellent soundproofing, water resistance, durability, and ease of installation.
Melamine Board
Officially called melamine-impregnated paper-faced wood-based panel, this decorative board involves immersing paper with specific colors or textures in melamine resin adhesive, partially curing it, and then laying it over particleboard, medium-density fiberboard, or hard fiberboard before undergoing hot pressing.
PE Calcium Composite Panel
Made primarily from resin, fillers, and foaming agents, these panels are blended into sheets and extruded under compression. Once heated and molded, the sheets expand into calcium plastic foam boards. With a longitudinal expansion of 1.7 times and a thickness increase of twice, these boards are vacuum-formed in hot molds. Typically sized at 500mm x 500mm with a thickness of 6mm, they are used in construction and packaging.
Aluminum Composite Panel
This panel is constructed using high-pressure polyethylene as the base, supplemented with a significant amount of aluminum hydroxide and a proper amount of flame retardant. It undergoes processes like kneading, hot pressing, and foaming to create a lightweight, soundproof, insulating, and moisture-resistant material. Ideal for ceilings and wall coverings.
Plywood
Plywood is a layered material created by slicing a log into veneers or thin wood pieces, which are then bonded together with adhesive. Typically consisting of an odd number of layers, the grain directions of adjacent plies are arranged perpendicularly. The outer layers are symmetrical around the central layer or core.
Thin Wood Veneer
Produced from materials like water ash, willow wood, colored wood, or birch, these veneers are shaved to a thickness of 0.1-0.5mm and glued onto plywood substrates. Offering attractive patterns, this veneer is moderately durable. Luan wood, for instance, has a moderate density, slightly coarse grain, and good adhesive properties, though it can warp during drying. Firwood is lighter, easier to dry and process, but less durable and prone to splitting. It’s a popular choice for mid-tier applications.
Bagasse Particleboard
Made from sugarcane bagasse, the residue left after sugar extraction, this material shares a chemical composition similar to wood. Bagasse particleboard boasts high strength, low weight, low water absorption, and excellent dimensional stability. It’s ideal for furniture, construction, transportation, and packaging industries. Graded particleboard transitions from fine to coarse shavings from the surface to the core, offering superior surface finish and strength. Oriented Strand Board (OSB) OSB is a wood-based panel composed of shaved small-diameter logs, thin wood, wood cores, and bark processed into sheets measuring 40mm x 70mm by 5mm x 20mm with thicknesses of 0.3mm to 0.7mm. Hot pressing after drying and sizing gives OSB its unique properties, including high flexural strength, dimensional stability, and ease of surface treatment. It’s extensively used in construction, packaging, and vehicle manufacturing. White ash is resilient with pale sapwood and darker heartwood. Its grain is prominent and coarse, making it easy to work with and shape. Used in luxury furniture, flooring, and tools. Ash is also resilient but tends to decay easily, limiting its decorative use. Fireproof Board
Fireproof boards are made primarily from silicon or calcium materials mixed with fibers, lightweight aggregates, adhesives, and chemical additives. As a growingly popular material, it’s favored not just for its fire resistance but also for its versatility. Quality fireproof boards require precise glue application and are priced higher than decorative panels. Thickness typically ranges from 0.8mm to 1.2mm.
Large Core Board
A specialized type of plywood, large core boards consist of parallel strips of the same thickness but varying lengths, tightly joined together. Generally five-layered, these boards exhibit poor bending resistance along the vertical axis but excel in horizontal bending strength.
Decorative Panel
Commonly referred to as "panels," these are single-sided decorative boards made by slicing solid wood into thin veneers about 0.2mm thick and bonding them onto splint as a base. They differ from traditional blends and represent a high-end finishing material.
Splint
Also known as plywood, splint consists of three or more layers of one-millimeter-thick veneers or sheets that are hot pressed together. Known for its lightweight nature, high strength, flexibility, and resistance to impact and vibration, it’s easy to process and finish while providing good insulation.
