It also aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using an animal model to assess the effectiveness of selenium-enriched yeast as a nutritional supplement. **Second, Materials and Methods** Experimental animals and group selection: 4–5-week-old mice with similar weight (about 20g) and good health status were selected. A total of 40 mice were used, divided into three treatment groups: one control group (no added Se), one group fed with selenium-enriched yeast (Jiaboshan Se 0.2mg/kg diet), and another group given inorganic selenium (sodium selenite at 0.2mg/kg diet). Each group had 3 replicates, with 6 mice per replicate. The study was conducted at Zhongshan University. Feeding method: Free feeding and drinking. The experiment started on August 25, 2012, and lasted for 32 days. The environment was maintained under aseptic conditions, with temperature controlled at 25°C. Cages were cleaned daily to ensure hygiene. The health of the mice was monitored daily, and any sick or abnormal mice were isolated immediately. The experiment was carried out in the Guangzhou Science City Experimental Animal Room. **Third, Experimental Results** Body weight: No significant differences were observed in appearance, mental state, or body weight during the feeding period. However, the control group showed larger individuals by the end of the experiment. The results are presented in Table 1. **Blood Selenium Content Determination:** A 1 ml sample of anticoagulated blood (heparinized) was collected in a beaker, mixed with acid, digested on an electric furnace, and analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results are shown in Table 2.   This study provides valuable insights into the bioavailability and efficacy of selenium-enriched yeast compared to traditional inorganic selenium sources in mice. The findings may support future research on dietary selenium supplementation for improved animal nutrition and health.
