According to recent reports from the Gaoming Plastics Industry Association, the output value of plastics companies in Gaoming District increased by double digits year-on-year during the first 11 months of this year. Among the standout performers is Xiongye, a mid-sized company with just 59 employees that has managed to achieve sales of 590 million yuan in the first 11 months of the year—up over 30% compared to the same period last year. "This success is largely driven by the strong demand from our downstream partners," said Huang Yueyi, an analyst at the company. Another major player, Jun Teng Plastic, recorded sales of 150 million yuan, up around 15%, while another unnamed company saw its sales reach 240 million yuan, marking a 25% year-on-year increase.
The data shows that 113 large-scale enterprises in the petrochemical plastics industry in Gaoming generated a total output value of 35.8 billion yuan in the first 11 months of the year, representing an 18.3% rise compared to the previous year. A representative from Gaoming Plastics Co., Ltd. noted that the industry is not only surviving but thriving in what many would consider a “winter†for manufacturing.
Looking ahead, Li Yongzhi, head of a local plastics firm, believes that the smart plastics industry will continue to grow rapidly over the next five years. He pointed out that plastic products are essential in daily life, and as living standards improve, the market potential remains vast.
In addition to these positive trends, the Gaoming Plastic Products International Purchasing Center is set to break ground soon. The center, which will cover 600,000 square meters, will include an exhibition hall, logistics hub, and storage facilities. According to Zeng Tieqiu, president of the Gaoming District Plastics Industry Association, the project aims to strengthen the region’s position as a key player in the global plastics market.
